SAEDA (Student Activists Ending Dating Abuse)

SAEDA is a youth-led education and prevention program dedicated to celebrating diversity, challenging oppressive social norms, promoting leadership and inspiring youth to ultimately end gender-based violence.

SAEDA began in 2004 with DELTA support and since then has grown to include more than 500 high school students across more than ten schools in Rockland County and the surrounding area. The SAEDA program sponsors trainings every February and August on gender-based violence, primary prevention, anti-oppression work and social change activism.

SAEDA 4-Day Training
Interactive training for Rockland High School Students in grades 9-12. This is an exciting opportunity to explore the topics of teen dating abuse, healthy relationships, and other social justice issues.

Monthly Events
SAEDA events are open to all teens who are interested in the topics of healthy dating, youth activism, and other social justice issues.

SAEDA Sub-Committee
The Sub-committee is the core leadership team for SAEDA and meets every Friday afternoon to plan monthly events, outreach and activist actions. Students who have completed the 4-day training are eligible to join. In addition, SAEDA sub-committee members have the ability to join Center for Safety & Change Board of Directors and represent youth within the community and play a role in making decisions that affect the agency.
