Residential Relief Staff
The Center for Safety and Change, which supports a broad range of programs and services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and victims of all other violent crimes, is seeking Residential Relief Staff. The successful applicant will work on a per diem basis with women and children survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse in a residential setting. This is a per-diem position to provide coverage during necessary shifts that may include day, evening, overnight and weekend hours. Some Responsibilities Include:
Residential Relief Staff provides direct service to residential and hotline victims of domestic violence and sexual trauma by offering crisis support counseling and advocacy to women and children residing in the Emergency Shelter. Duties include but are not limited to responding to hotlines; providing information and referrals, options, providing client transportation. Conduct periodic walks throughout to check security and client needs and is expected to stay awake during an overnight shift to ensure the safety and security of the residence and to meet residents’ needs.
Personal Characteristics:
The successful candidate will have an interest in social justice issues, will be comfortable working in a diverse environment, and will have a demonstrated ability to multitask and respond swiftly to management requests. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, solid organizational skills, and strong and effective communication skills.
Requirements:
Must have years of experience working in the field. Bachelor’s in Counseling, Psychology, Social Justice, Human Services or related field a plus but not required, or High School Diploma. Must have strong computer skills. Requires a valid driver’s license and own transportation. Bilingual candidates welcome. This position pays $11.00 per hour.
