Full-time Advocate to work with the non-offending parent(s) or guardian of sexually abused children

Position is part of a collaborative grant to create a Child Advocacy Center in Rockland to provide the best possible services to children who experienced physical and sexual abuse and their parents.
Position responsibilities include: respond to Hotline calls from parent(s) or guardian of sexually abused children; provide advocacy and accompaniment to hospital, D.A.'s office, courts and social services agencies; act as liaison with Child Protective Services and accompany Child Protective Services Workers on home and community visits; facilitate a support group for parents of sexally abused children; provide legal advocacy, information referral and promote community awareness of services.
Bilingual/bicultural candidates encouraged to apply. Human service experience, counseling experience, strong writing, organizational, communication and public speaking skills preferred. Must have own transportation and valid driver's license. BSW or MSW candidate or those in related field are encouraged to apply.
